Down Hall to invest £1.5m in refurbishment

Down Hall Country House Hotel, which sits on the Hertfordshire and Essex borders, has invested £1.5m in a major refurbishment of 71 bedrooms and kitchens, while also installing a gymnasium.

The refurbishment, to be completed by the beginning of February 2014 will, says Director of Sales and Marketing Anna Snoep, advance the heritage conference hotel’s position as a four-star residential meeting and event venue.

“With journey times of around an hour from London, Paris and Brussels, I believe Down Hall Hotel is now one of the leading conferences, meetings and events venues in the region,” Snoep says.

Down Hall Hotel is the centre point of a 110-acre, privately owned estate and available for outdoor events and pursuits, as well as offering 26 multi-purpose rooms, equipped with meetings technology.

Maximum single room capacity is for 200 guests (theatre style).
