Wimbledon helps Sportsworld win gold at sport event management awards

Event Services company, Sportsworld, won gold in the hospitality
category for the annual International Sports Event Management (ISEM)
awards, held at the Cumberland Hotel in London (6 November).
part of the TUI Sports division, was recognised for the delivery and
management of its Fairway Village hospitality at The Championships,
Wimbledon 2013.
The International Sports Event Management
Awards, now in their 7th year, are the only awards to recognise
excellence in the global sports event management industry.
Sportsworld beat a shortlist that included Keith Prowse
for The Championships Wimbledon, Octagon for FIFA Confederation Cup,
Velux/European Handball Federation for the Velux EHF Champions League,
Icon for the UEFA Champions League (UniCredit) and Mutua for the Mutua
Madrid Open.
Sportsworld were presented with the Gold Award,
having shown a strong commercial strategy when corporate budgets are
under pressure. The judges felt that Sportsworld met all the criteria
when delivering a luxurious VIP hospitality experience.
Stevens, Events Services Director at Sportsworld, says: “We are
delighted that our Fairway Village, Wimbledon experience has been
recognised by industry experts. It is a terrific endorsement and reward
for our Wimbledon team who worked tirelessly to provide the highest
level of customer service.
