Smyle, drpgroup and Tracy Halliwell all honoured at Eventia Awards

X Factor entertainment was on the menu at the annual Eventia Awards, hosted by Alexander Armstrong at the London Hilton Park Lane, 22 November. The Camillian Home charity benefitted from over £4,000 donated on the night by guests.

Agency drpgroup scooped the overall Platinum Award, as well as Gold in the Low Cost Event Solution of the Year category (presented by CN Editor Paul Colston) for its work for Chiltern Railways and received Gold in the Best Teambuilding Activity category for its work for ENRC.

London & Partners Director of Business Tourism and Major Events, Tracy Halliwell, was presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award and Smyle won the Agency of the Year category.

The Eventia Awards also provided an opportunity for small groups to gain exposure on how a large event of this nature works from ‘behind the scenes’.

Rachel Ley from RLC Productions led a successful education day pre-Awards.

Eventia merges officially with the IVCA on 6 January 2014 in a move that will create the largest corporation communication association in the UK.

Eventia Chairman Dale Parmenter said the merger would produce “a powerful voice for the industry as a whole and raise standards across the sector”. He also congratulated all the Awards winners and welcomed a record number of entries for 2013.
