Nottingham Conference Centre wins Business Tourism Award at 2013 STARS

The Nottingham Conference Centre, based at Nottingham Trent University’s Newton building, has won the Business Tourism Award at the region’s 2013 STARS Awards.
 
Now in its eighth year, the STARS Awards aim to inspire people who work in tourism to achieve their best. The awards ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham, with a 300-strong audience.
 
Thirty teams, businesses and individuals from across Nottinghamshire were shortlisted this year for eight awards. The awards are produced by the Nottingham Hoteliers Association, the STARS organising committee and Experience Nottinghamshire.
 
The Business Tourism Award is one of four of the eight awards aligned with the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.
 
Jillian Miles, Nottingham Conference Centre Conference and Events Operations Manager, said: “We’re really proud to win this prestigious accolade and feel it really reflects the team’s hard work during the past year.”
 
Nottingham Conference Centre will now be automatically entered for the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which take place in early 2014.
 
In related news, the Nottingham Event Team has launched a new website, nottinghamevents.uk.com, which provides organisers with access to over 40 venues in the city along with specialist support and assistance from a dedicated conference and events team.
