Hire Space updates venue booking website to improve user experience

Venue booking website, Hire Space, has launched the second phase of the site, following its initial launch in March, which saw 100,000 customers visiting the site and generating £2m of enquiries. Hire Space is backed by the team behind online restaurant booker, Toptable.com.

The update is aimed at improving the user’s booking experience, giving people the tools to book a venue in the same way as they would a hotel room. The update includes the following key roll outs: a ‘Quick Enquiry’ option that lets a customer check the price and availability of any of the 1,000 venues on the site for their given dates; intuitive venue comparisons; and improved mapping tools, the site now incorporates Google Street View into all searches.

Beyond these improvements, co-founder of Hire Space, Will Swannell, says the update “brings online the knowledge of our company’s venue booking team, helping customers find their own venues rather than relying on the agencies that previously dominated the market”.

The site’s development is being spearheaded by new Chief Technology Officer, Dean Hume, who recently joined the company from Livebookings, a UK restaurant booking platform.

Hire Space highlights 1,000 venues live on the site, including everything from exclusive locations like the National Portrait Gallery and the Hackney Empire to community centres and schools available to hire, for events and meetings.
