International Confex picked up the coveted Best Use of Social Media award at the Event Technology Awards on 15 November, underlining the show’s expanding use of digital technology to connect both buyer and supplier.
The UK’s largest exhibition representing the British event industry, has embraced community-based marketing for the last three years, growing its community both within and outside the show and allowing buyers to access the show content from outside the exhibition.
Last year, social media was used to promote and access educational content, and to create networking within the exhibition between buyers and suppliers.
“It’s a well earned accolade for International Confex,” said Exhibition Director Donna Bushell. “Confex has an amazing database of buyers and suppliers within the industry and our social media communities are a great way for them to share information, research, technology and opinion. It works for them and for the show.”
International Confex will shortly be unveiling its educational strategy for its 2014 show, with the changing use and face of social media, one of the many hot topics.
