GenieConnect wins EIBTM Technology Watch award for MarketingConnect

Digital solutions provider for the events industry, GenieConnect, has won this year’s European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) Technology Watch for its marketing automation and personalisation tool: MarketingConnect.

GenieConnect was selected from 61 applications by an external expert panel of industry professionals who scored the entries based on innovation, completeness of concept, and the value of the product to the meetings industry.

MarketingConnect is integrated with GenieConnect event solutions, meaning it has access to the latest event information (exhibitors and sessions), visitor data (taken at registration) and knows the behaviour and actions of visitors across mobile and web platforms.

Using a combination of time and action based triggers, combined with configurable workflow rules, the marketer is able to set up automated campaigns. These campaigns are triggered when the user interacts with the event tool, by clicking on a link, signing into the web portal or downloading the app.

“We are thrilled to have won this award for our new offering, MarketingConnect,” says CEO of GenieConnect, Giles Welch. “We’ve seen first hand the difficulties our customers have faced with traditional event email marketing and being able to personalise communications based on behaviour brings event marketing in line with the most successful digital marketing approaches in business today.”

GenieConnect will present its winning product at EIBTM 2013 in the new Innovation Zone. As part of the award, GenieConnect will receive a stand within the Technology and Events Services area of the show floor, as well as marketing and promotions to the meetings and events industry.

In addition to the overall winner, the EIBTM Technology Watch award also awarded four honourable mentions whose entries highlighted significant technology trends within the industry. These included TapCrowd, Poll Everywhere, Social Tables and Conferize.

Corbin Ball, who chaired the judging panel, said: “Another record was set this year with 61 Technology Watch entries. GenieConnect, as the winner, and the four honourable mentions point the way for some interesting emerging technologies. Specifically, GenieConnect provides a rich ecosystem of both web and mobile technologies to apply business intelligence using meeting participant preferences to target the right people with the right content. This application of data analysis is a significant advance for the events industry.”

EIBTM 2013 takes place 19-21 November in Barcelona, Spain.
