The team at Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP) headed to Leeds United Football Club on Thursday 19 September 2013 for the first leg of its Great Agency Cook-Off, which delivered a competitive encounter between Calder and Capita Travel & Events.
Taking place on three dates between September and November 2013 across the UK, The Great Agency Cook-Off will pit some of the industry’s agencies against each other in a Ready Steady Cook style competition to offer the agency with the best culinary flare ’ultimate bragging rights’. The teams of four from Calder and Capita Travel & Events were tasked with preparing meals from a set list of ingredients in a strict 15-minute timeframe. The dishes were then served up and judged by LVP Head of Sales Jo Austin, Rob Smyth, Leeds United FC General Manager, and North West Operations Director Charles Nicol, all of whom know a thing or two about creating great food.
With judges considering the teams’ cooking skills, health and safety awareness and, most importantly, the presentation and taste of their dishes, last night saw the team from Calder Conferences, led by Gill Evans, emerge victorious. Gill’s team created a ‘meatball stir-fry’which the judging panel dubbed “full of flavour”.
Commendations were offered to the Capita Travel & Events Team, led by Karl Atkinson, as the judges said their ‘rustic Italian patties with noodles’ dish was “flavoursome.” Further cook-offs will take place on the below dates, with the overall winners announced in December.
