Kudos wins contracts at Central Hall Westminster and Heron Apartments

Caterer Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has been awarded an exclusive contract for the newly-launched Heron Apartments in London and signed an eight-year extension for its sole catering contract with the Methodist Central Hall Westminster (MCHW).

MCHW first opened in 1912 as a monument to mark the centenary of John Wesley’s death (the founder of Methodism). It is open to the public and has 30 rooms, which can be hired for events including conferences and receptions for up to 2,200 guests.

Kudos has held the contract since 2006 and had recently agreed a five-year extension. This has now been further extended by an additional three-years. The contract, valued at approximately £1.5m per annum, involves Kudos in providing catering for an range of meetings, conferences and events that are held throughout the year, as well as running Wesley’s Cafe in the basement of the venue.

Heron Apartments sit within a 36-floor residential tower in Barbican and are a new take on the concierge style of living, aimed at individuals who want service at their doorstep in the heart of the City.

Kudos will be responsible for delivering food and beverage services to the occupants and guests at the apartments, which will range from the daily food orders to catering for private parties and functions.

Having no extraction facility requires creative cooking methods such as thermo-mix heat technology and also impacts on the type of food offered on the menu.

“The Heron is a blend of contemporary and luxury accommodation,” says Food Director for Kudos, Frank Bordoni (pictured). “Being selected as the catering partner is a reflection on our ability to work alongside environmental and sustainability issues which are increasingly high on the agenda and, has become a major factor in building design.

“We also have the advantage of our sister company Kudos Delivered which will give us the ability to offer a unique range of food at peak periods.”
