Event management student volunteers needed for Danone Nations Cup

Event management agency, A-Z Events, is looking for event management students or those wanting to break into the world of events to volunteer to become part of its organising team for the Danone Nations Cup.

This year 32 countries will compete in Danone’s annual event, now in its 14th year. It is the world’s largest football tournament for 10-12-year-olds. Since 2000 it has been inspiring millions of youngsters to be active and embrace the positive values of sport, exercise and the importance of a proper diet.

The tournament starts on 26 August and ends 11 September 2013.

Volunteers would help across 30 different types, with some roles based at Surrey Sports Park (near Guildford) and some at Wembley.

“Many of the roles at the event will be working with professionals in the industry,” says A-Z Events’ Project Co-ordinator, Andy Mahmud. “When I was a student it was very hard to find real hands-on experience as most unpaid volunteering jobs were not as involved as what we can offer. It took me a few years to finally break into the industry so for this opportunity to arise I thought it would be a great idea to pass this on and help out fellow soon-to-be event professionals.”

Sign up to volunteer by emailing volunteering@a-zevents.co.uk or call 0203 176 0960.

Event and communications specialist agency Grass Roots won the four-way pitch for the Danone Nations Cup World Final 2013. The agency will partner with Danone to deliver their VIP programme at the event.
