Amadeus wins Birmingham Town Hall catering contract

The contract catering division of The NEC Group, Amadeus, has won the £1m catering contract for Birmingham’s Town Hall.

Amadeus will provide banqueting and conference catering for all commercial hire events at the city centre venue, and has developed a range of exclusive Town Hall signature menus.

The Grade I listed building, managed together with Symphony Hall by the charity Performances Birmingham, hosts a range of events including conferences, gala dinners, awards evenings, catwalk shows, drinks receptions, film screenings and weddings.

Amadeus was awarded the catering contract for Town Hall following a six-way tender process. This follows its £2m contract win for the newly refurbished Library of Birmingham.

“We are thrilled to have Amadeus on board, having identified them as our ideal catering partner,” says Director of Operations at Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham, Nick Loveland. “We were looking for a caterer who could match up to the impressive surroundings of Town Hall by offering creative catering at the highest standard.”

Kevin Watson, MD of Amadeus, says: “This is a significant win for Amadeus and we are pleased to be adding yet another landmark City Centre venue to our portfolio. We already hold the catering contracts for the NIA and the ICC Birmingham, so to be awarded the contract for another two of the most iconic buildings in the country’s second city, in the space of just a few months, is a huge triumph.”
