The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham claims to be one of the first UK convention centres to invest in a new state of the art media wall designed to enhance the conference experience for delegates.
Located in the registration area of the ICC, the media wall boasts 18 HD LCD 55 inch Samsung screens, creating a media wall covering 7m x 2m, which can be used to display multiple videos and imagery.
The wall capability enables clients to have multiple windows of content displayed at any one time, without the restrictions of having to fit to screen dimensions. Content can also be created on multiple templates allowing screen content to be scheduled to completely change during the event. The marketing tool adds a new element to traditional event branding and is another way of interacting with delegates.
The multiple LCD screens have already been used by a number of clients including the National Farmers Union (NFU), In4matics, Birmingham City Football Club, the British Society for Rheumatology and at The X Factor auditions.
The wall is also a way of utilising social media and can be used to stream real time web content, as well as displaying live RSS Twitter feeds.
General Manager of the ICC Paul Rutherford said: “We are exceptionally pleased to be one of the first venues in the country to offer this facility to our clients and their delegates. The capability of creating content to wow delegates using our new media wall is incredible and is a true reflection on how we are working hard to create an inspiring and creative venue by investing in technology.
“We understand that the conferencing world is changing and there is a lot more focus on social media and web streaming and we are always looking at ways of staying ahead of the game and giving our clients more reason to use our venue.”
