Moving Venue’s outdoor catering arm will be setting up camp at Blackheath Common Sunday to provide energy-boosting supplies for some 2,000 cyclists taking part in Help for Heroes’ first annual ‘Hero Ride’.
Food stalls will be erected on the Common to fuel the final 10 miles of the ride, which for some started 350 miles away in Paris, to the finish line on Horse Guards Parade.
Riders taking part in the ‘Big Battlefield Bike Ride’, which takes in the battlefields of Northern France over 6 days, will be joined at Blackheath by 250 ‘Dawn Raid’ riders journeying from Tedworth House in Wiltshire and over 900 cyclists talking part in self-organised rides from locations all over the UK. 100 wounded servicemen, women and veterans will lead the concluding mass staged ride into central London, which organisers hope will raise over £2 million to benefit Help for Heroes.
Hero Ride is open to cyclists of all ages and abilities, whether you want to ride 10 miles from Clapham or 100 miles from Coventry.
