Bailbrook House in Bath opens for meetings and events

Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath has opened for meetings, conferences and events following a £10m investment programme.

Bailbrook House, which is set within 20 acres of private grounds, offers 94 refurbished bedrooms, including 13 feature rooms in the restored Mansion House, a conference room with capacity for 160 delegates and a suite of training rooms. There are also four boardrooms in the Mansion House that can be used for executive meetings and private dining.

The hotel’s new Brunel Suite, complete with six chandeliers and floor to ceiling glass doors, is suitable for corporate celebrations or award evenings for up to 160 guests. The room opens out onto a terrace for outdoor networking or drinks receptions, and has its own separate bar area and conservatory.

In addition to the four boardrooms, other areas newly opened in the Mansion House include a new fine dining restaurant, Cloisters, three lounges and a conservatory bar.

The re-opening, which will take place in phases throughout this summer, marks the end of a 10-month restoration project. With all restoration due to be complete by August 2013, the Grade II hotel will officially become part of Hand Picked Hotels, a collection of country house hotels, in autumn 2013.

“The transformation of the hotel has been amazing and I invite businesses to come and use the new facilities to their best advantage. With easy access to the motorway, and a short hop to the city centre, Bailbrook House is a great option for both local and national businesses,” said GM of Bailbrook House, Jonathan Squire.

Hand Picked Hotels has also agreed terms for the acquisition of St Pierre Park Hotel & Golf Resort in Guernsey. The four-star resort hotel is to be purchased from SandpiperCI for an undisclosed amount. St Pierre Park Hotel has 131 bedrooms, and conference and banqueting facilities for up to 360 people, a leisure spa and a range of dining options.

The proposed acquisition is part of a strategic expansion by Hand Picked Hotels, created by former lawyer turned hotelier Julia Hands, to extend its presence in the Channel Islands, where it will complement Hand Picked’s L’Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa, St Brelade’s Bay, in Jersey.
