The Media House steps up training offer with social media for venues

Specialist even industry training company, The Media House, has developed a new course on social media for conference venues. The course builds on recent half-day Linkedin for Conferences and Twitter for Conferences courses run for meeting professionals.

Media House MD Claire Wormsley (pictured), said: “These half-day Masterclasses were developed for conference practitioners but we noticed that a significant number of venue Sales and Marketing Directors have also been attending. We have identified that there is a real appetite for focused and tailored information on how venues can generate venue bookings, build brand awareness and create communities.”

“With over 175m business people worldwide and in excess of 10m in the UK using LinkedIn and 55m tweets being sent and 300,000 new users joining twitter every day, the opportunities for conference venues to engage with event companies through these social media channels is huge.”

The Media House reports also it has been appointed as the preferred supplier to deliver event training for the independent publishers’ association (PPA) members.

Loraine Davies, Director of PTC and PPA Training, said: “We are delighted to be working with The Media House to support our members in growing and developing their event businesses”.

Wormsley added: “This appointment recognises the contribution and importance of events to publishing and provides further support from the PPA to their members with expert, specialist training”
