One Wimpole Street expands free Wi-Fi in response to demand

London event and meetings space, One Wimpole Street, has expanded its free Wi-Fi capability.

After a three-week testing period, the central London venue can now provide uninterrupted, high quality wireless connectivity for delegates, using the same technology that can be found in some of the UK’s largest conference centres.

Since free Wi-Fi was first provided to delegates in 2010, One Wimpole Street has seen an average of 200 devices connecting daily. And with Wi-Fi demand rising nearly 200 per cent year-on-year, upgrading its free Wi-Fi capabilities was identified as an essential customer service tool.

“Wi-Fi is a key element of our customer service offering, and so a vital objective of that is to provide high density wireless facilities,” says Director at One Wimpole Street, Nigel Collett.

“Our visitors want to stay connected with their business and social contacts at all times, often via multiple devices, and with some 500 delegates often swelling the number of visitors on site we can now provide an uninterrupted wireless service to them at all times.”
