New Forest offers fleet of electric vehicles for delegates

The New Forest claims to be the country’s first destination to offer a fleet of Twizy electric vehicles along with a comprehensive charge point network as an innovative way to explore its scenery.
The Twizy two-seaters will offer a truly ‘green’ stay for delegates who can arrive at the main train station at Brockenhurst, hire a Twizy and make use of a network of 20 charge points at hotels, B&Bs, holiday parks and attractions throughout the New Forest.
The Twizys, which were officially launched by Visit England Chief Executive James Berresford to celebrate English Tourism Week, are a new way to boost sustainable travel. The electric vehicles can reach a top speed of 50mph and travel for at least 50 miles on a full charge as they drive around the New Forest’s towns, villages and coastline.
The £49-a-day Twizy rental package comes with a Brand New Forest Card which offers hundreds of special offers and discounts at pubs, restaurants and attractions which are part of the charge point network.
Six of the charge points are at Fullers pubs, while others include hotels, New Forest Cycle Experience and New Forest Activities, where delegates can leave their Twizy charging while they head out to enjoy some adventure including canoeing, kayaking, archery, combat games or guided walks.
To hire a Twizy delegates need to be 21 or older and have held a valid driving licence for more than a year.
