Experiential events and communications agency, Logistik Group, has won the contract for event and PR activation for the newly-launched ’Football For Friendship’ scheme with former World Cup winner Franz Beckenbauer.
The project will see the world’s first ever International Children’s Forum for sport, fronted and hosted by Franz Beckenbauer, which will be held in Westminster on the morning of the UEFA Champions League Final on 25 May.
The event brief is for it to be a standout visual experience to captivate those involved and create a day for the 600 children, aged 10-16, that are coming from the UK and being flown over from Europe to take part.
The ‘Football For Friendship’ Forum is the first global scale event of its kind and will be an opportunity to highlight issues that are of particular importance to educating a younger generation of people through sport.
In addition to the event management of the forum, Logistik will also handle the PR for the programme, creating a pre- and post-event PR campaign for ‘Football For Friendship’. This will include raising awareness of ‘Football For Friendship’ in national, regional, online and broadcast press as well as running the social media sites for the project.
The PR activity will use Franz Beckenbauer’s role as a global ambassador for the event, as well as access to kids from Kickz (the social inclusion programme supported by Chelsea FC) and reactive and proactive news stories around the UEFA Champions League Final.
