Regional airline, Flybe, has launched its Flybe Flex, what it calls is the first discounted upfront option to make changes to online bookings in the UK.
During the initial online booking process Flybe gives those buying a basic Essentials ticket the added benefit to make unlimited changes to the date, time and route of their chosen flight any time prior to their departure date. By pre-purchasing Flybe Flex, a customer will save £58 on a return flight per person.
Available at the point of booking on new Essentials bookings only, made online at flybe.com from today, Flybe Flex waives the £35 per person per flight online change fees normally applicable, should customers wish to amend their ticket. It gives the peace of mind of knowing that any number of future itinerary changes will be covered for an upfront once-off payment from £5.99*
“Flybe Flex will give its customers not only additional choice but also the much-needed peace of mind when confirming their travel plans, be it for business or leisure,” says Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing.
*Fee per person per sector are dependent on the time between the booking and date of the flight; minimum cost £9.99 per booking and fare difference may apply. Available for Essentials bookings with Flybe UK and codeshare flights but excluding those operated by Flybe’s franchise partner, Loganair or Flybe Finland.
In related news, the airline has sold its runway space at Gatwick Airport to easyJet for £20m. The carrier currently flies 340 flights a week between Gatwick and destinations around the UK.
