AV decisions driven by price, says new Church House survey

A survey conducted by Church House Conference Centre in London has revealed that, when looking for AV services, 42 per cent of event organisers said they would prefer to use an in-house AV team in comparison to just 15 per cent preferring to source an external company.

The remaining organisers polled said that their decisions would be driven by price. The survey also revealed that for 70 per cent of event organisers, AV spend accounted for less than a fifth of their event budget.

The Westminster venue carried out its poll among 100 clients as part of an initiative to improve the AV services it offers. Clients included associations, charities and not-for-profit organisations, corporate companies, Government and public sector bodies and event organisers and PCOs who all fed back what is important to them when choosing AV.

Church House Conference Centre General Manager Robin Parker says: “We wanted to find out what mattered to event organisers when it came to AV so we could make sure we were investing in all the right areas.

“Price is always going to be an important factor which is why we work hard to keep our pricing competitive and offer clients bespoke quotes. The results from the survey also revealed that it is important to clients that a venue offers in-house AV.

“The results from the survey have proven interesting and based on these we can tailor our AV services and assist clients in areas where they need further advice on how to make the most of AV during their events,” he adds.
