Over 50 per cent of event professionals have said they have already booked Christmas parties for 2013 and are planning more events over the next 12 months, according to a survey undertaken by Venue Reservations at its venue showcase on 23 April.
The showcase event, attended by many of the industry’s corporate buyers, venue clients and agents, was held at Gibson Hall in London.
As part of the events activities, guests were asked a series of questions aimed at assessing the industry trends. Over 68 per cent of those surveyed said they have held more events this year, compared with last, and 53 per cnet said their budgets for Christmas parties have increased. There was also a significant bias of booking more traditional venues as opposed to contemporary venues for events.
During the evening, guests were able to gain a broader understanding of the Venue Reservations nationwide portfolio, as well as share industry best practice with peers while being treated to some food provided by Kudos.
The weather was perfect for the event, themed as Summer BBQ, over 200 guests were treated to canapés including potted smoked salmon and sourdough fingers, home cured mackerel with beetroot and horseradish, before moving outside into the garden for Pimms and the BBQ with a range of sliders and sticks including; honey glazed Gressingham duck with spicy pear relish, 100 per cent Aberdeen Angus beef with cheddar, tomato, red onion and pickle as well as goats’ cheese with fennel, courgette and basil.
New venue clients at this year’s showcase included The London Bridge Experience, Bloomsbury Ballroom and the V&A, alongside nearly 30 existing venues from across London and the UK.
