Red Coats swapped for conference ‘Navigators’ at Butlins

Butlins Events is partnering with the Arun Business Partnership on the south coast to host 70 local businesses at the newly-refurbished Shoreline Conference Centre.

A £180,000 refit at the Bognor Regis venue will be celebrated with a champagne breakfast and business seminar.
“We are excited to welcome the local business community to the resort to witness the investment we continue to make for its future growth,” said Resort Director, Jeremy Pardey.

“Our upgrade to the Shoreline Conference Centre represents another step forward as we look to attract events and conferences from both within the UK and abroad, bringing a larger portion of the business tourism economy into the area,” he said.
During the event guests will participate in a business seminar with the ‘Butlins Navigators’, development leaders that the company claims have been instrumental in Butlins rising to fourth in the Sunday Times ‘25 Best Big Companies to work for’ 2013 rankings.

The Butlins idea is to give local businesses an insight into its working practices and new facilities.
Butlins employs 1,300 team members in the Bognor Regis resort and works already with blue-chip companies such as Waitrose and John Lewis.
Drew Stevens-King, Head of Butlins Culture and Development Team, said company culture was at the core of the corporate offer. “We hope an insight into our Navigator programme to those that face similar challenges in this tough economic climate will be a useful initiative ahead of a busy summer season.”
Miriam Nicholls, Business Development Manager, for Arun District Council which is supporting the event, said: “We’re delighted with the investment that Butlins has made in its conference centre and we look forward to working with Butlins to welcome businesses to the centre and to the area. This type of investment shows the confidence that large companies have in Bognor Regis and the district as a place to do business.”
Butlins Bognor Regis resort has a 5,500-person capacity and boasts three contemporary resort hotels: Ocean, Wave and Shoreline, with a joint capacity of 600 rooms, alongside 750 self-catering apartments. The 550-delegate purpose-built conference centre received a renovation to its main room in February 2013.
