Lime Venue Portfolio launches Admiral’s House for events

Hospitality and event group, Lime Venue Portfolio, will opened up Admiral’s House at the Old Royal Naval College for corporate hire from the end of April 2013.

Following the completion of a £500,000 refurbishment the venue, located in the north-eastern corner of the King Charles Court, will add another six event spaces to the Old Royal Naval College with capacities ranging from 10 to 60.

The largest new space, the Hardwick Room, can accommodate 60 guests for dinner and can work in conjunction with the adjoining Wren Room, offering delegates an alternative space for a drinks reception. These rooms will add to the spaces already available for hire at the ORNC, among which is the Painted Hall, which can accommodate up to 400 dinner guests.

In the past Admiral’s House has provided the backdrop for high-profile films including Skyfall, Les Miserables, The Duchess and The King’s Speech.

The Old Royal Naval College has undergone conservation as part of the ongoing work at the heritage site being undertaken by the Greenwich Foundation, the charity set up in 1997 to run the ORNC. As part of the conservation and renovation work, disabled access and toilet facilities for guests on the ground floor of the 17th Century interior have been provided and fire capacity of the space has been increased to allow up to 90 guests. Wi-Fi has also been installed in the four major rooms.

“We’re delighted Admiral’s House has been so sensitively developed in keeping with the skilled conservation work on other areas of the ORNC and that we can now offer these six spaces to corporate events organisers,” Sales Manager at the Old Royal Naval College, Wayne Spicer, said. “The Old Royal Naval College attracts a lot of interest from organisers of high end events from business districts in London, and the new spaces will add to the choice for planners.”
