Recently the International Special Events Society (ISES) UK and VoxelJet 3-D took over the London event space Ice Tank in Covent Garden in the latest ISESTALKS creative event series. Around 70 guests and ISES members focused for the evening on the next generation of event trends and 3-D printing.
Guest speaker Kevin Smith from Global TCT presented to the audience about the growth and technology behind 3-D printing and applications and a look at their future in the events industry.
With guests eager to learn, a Q&A followed, which was accompanied by a selection of canapés from The Recipe’s new menu including carpaccio of beef with artichoke, parmesan and black truffle, lime smoked duck, carrot and ginger salad on gyoza, cured salmon ’lollipop’ and yuzu tempura crisps and bombay chaat, tamarind and green mango.
The photo studio space at the Ice Tank provided the minimalist setting for the one off event, in which the gloves went on and guests got their hands wet by being challenged to create polar bear ice sculptures. Courtesy of Ice Box, guests got into the spirit and a playful competitive edge came out as guests grappled to sculpt their designs, some better than others.
