On 2 April, the drpgroup held an innovation day at its Midlands head office, bringing together the entire team for the experience. The day provided an opportunity for the team to see the latest developments in their respective fields through an exhibition-style innovation experience. The day saw drpgroup suppliers visit the head office production complex to display the latest advancements in their field while the group also provided team members with a seminar on creative thinking and communications. The day also saw the large drpteam network with one another, sharing the latest techniques and developments from their own divisions.
The drpgroup invited suppliers from across a range of disciplines to demonstrate on the day with experts in such fields as fields of RFID, augmented reality, social integration, graphical display and 3D printing in attendance. The drpteam moved around our production complex, taking in each of the experience one by one, from the latest in table decorations right through to the most recent developments in video conferencing. Throughout the day, our team were also invited to a special seminar, delivered by improvisational comedian Neil Mullarky. Neil took the teams through the common barriers we have when listening and engaging and showed how the techniques used on stage at the comedy store could also help you innovate, collaborate and drive business relationships.
Drpgroup MD Dale Parmenter said: “Technology and techniques in our industry are advancing at an alarming rate and the best businesses are always those which adapt and adopt the latest delivery methods. With a team that is growing as fast as ours, it can be easy to become blinkered and to start thinking less creatively. My idea is to ensure that this doesn’t happen through innovation days like this. You could tell that the team left the various demonstrations with new ideas that they could quickly take back to their clients.
“To keep up this momentum, we’ll be running a series of departmental experience days over the coming months to continue our emphasis on innovation.”
