Destinations step forward to host Meetings Show UK buyers post-event

High profile UK and European destinations have signed up to provide post-event tours for hosted buyers visiting The Meetings Show UK from 9-11 July 2013.

Organiser of the inaugural show, Centaur Exhibitions, is promising a programme that will bring in 1,500 qualified buyers to attend more than 13,500 pre-scheduled meetings with a host of suppliers from across the UK and around the world.

Destinations hosting post event tours include Birmingham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Brussels, Cardiff, Jersey, Lincoln, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle. Centaur expects to add to the list in the run up to the show.

Travel Mediate, PR Impressive, SW Business and Events Solutions, Buying Business Travel Online and GMI Portal are the latest in the list of industry suppliers and venues committed to bringing buyers to the event.

Steve Knight, Event Director for The Meetings Show UK says: “We have always maintained that The Meetings Show UK is about the whole of the UK and those markets looking for UK business and this list of names proves it. The fantastic quality of destinations confirmed for post event tours is recognition of the significant support we have for The Meetings Show UK. Hosted buyers will benefit not only from meeting with key exhibitors at the show but can also gain deeper insight into a destination by experiencing it for themselves. We look forward to more destinations confirming their involvement in this initiative in the near future.”

Qualified buyers will benefit from a personalised and funded travel experience; bed and breakfast at a 4/5-star hotel; transportation to Olympia from host hotels and networking venues; a choice of hosted buyer lounges and will have freedom to choose meetings with the exhibitors who are right for their business.

Karina Gregory, Manager for Meet Bournemouth, the town’s conference bureau, says: “We have arranged to welcome qualified hosted buyers, seeking to hold events in Bournemouth, to the town once the show has closed. Buyers will have the opportunity to review all that Bournemouth has to offer their delegates, enjoy our stunning coastline and experience for themselves why Bournemouth remains a premier meetings and conference destination.”

The Meetings Show UK is expecting to attract 5,000 visitors including the 1,500 hosted buyers from across the UK and Europe.
