Bmi Regional has been named as the UK’s most punctual airline for the eight consecutive year, according to figures published by flightontime.info.
The figures from flightontime.info were gathered using original source data from the Civil Aviation Authority and found that almost 94 per cent of Bmi Regional flights departed within 15 minutes of their allotted time. The data, which analyses arrival and departure times for 35 of the largest airlines serving the UK, showed Bmi Regional was ahead of its nearest rivals by four per cent. With an average delay of just four minutes, Bmi Regional was also two minutes ahead of the second placed airline in the results.
“We are thrilled that once again our hard work and dedication has paid off,” says Bmi Regional’s Chief Executive, Cathal O’Connell. “Achieving the accolade of the most punctual airline in the UK for the eight consecutive year ahead of 34 other airlines is recognition of the efforts of the Bmi Regional team.”
The airline, which was recently awarded the ’most punctual regional airline in 2012’ at the sixth annual Brussels Airport Aviation Awards, says it is set to launch a further seven new routes this summer, bringing additional regional departures from Birmingham and Bristol into cities in Germany, Denmark, France, Italy and Sweden.
