Poken UK launches ‘lunch and learn’ initiative

Poken UK, a touch based provider of Near Field Communication (NFC) solutions for events and location based marketing, has lauched a ‘lunch and learn’ initiative to allow busy event professionals to get a lunchtime masterclass in the technology.
 
As well as moving to new Poken UK headquarters just outside of London, the Poken UK team has introduced two new staff members including Jamie Boyle, Business Development Executive and Paul Davies, Poken UK Sales Director.
 
Boyle and Davies will help the existing team focus on pushing the NFC product into the UK marketplace, to help educate and inform event professionals on the benefits of using NFC to increase lead-generation, improve event analytics and add an element of interactivity to their events.
 
“Our Poken partners in the US, Europe and Far East have been working with  clients such as BMW, BP, Deloitte and Amex who are all using Poken to enhance events in their regions,” says Beth Gladstone, Head of Business Development at Poken UK. “NFC has only recently become a ‘buzz word’ in the UK events industry and we are keen to ensure that UK events companies do not get left behind.”
 
The ‘lunch and learn’ initiative will see the Poken UK team travelling around the UK providing lunch with a learning session to interested clients.
 
“The response we have received in the UK from conference organisers and event agencies has been one of ‘tell us more’ hence the launch of our ‘lunch and learn’ sessions,” says Davies.
 
“Our Poken specialists have been in the field talking to organisers about how Poken enabled events are changing the way delegates exchange and collect rich, digital content at events. We have found that many more documents, video clips and presentations are collected and exchanged at Poken enabled events and we want to help organisers and agencies make use of this technology more.”
