Olympic Champion Sally Gunnell OBE has been confirmed as a guest speaker at this years’ Academic Venue Show.

The event will take place on 22 May at the ILEC Conference Centre in Earls Court.

In her presentation Gunnell will talk about expertise, mentality and organisation, the three factors that shaped her career. With them she hit some incredible highs and recovered from some devastating lows. She will also speak about sound performance principles from sport to business.

Jo Mitchell, Marketing Manager at Venuemasters, organiser of the show, says: “We have some exciting speakers confirmed for the Academic Venue Show. Our seminars, which are free to attend, will deliver great learning experiences. We are sure visitors will not only come away with new venue ideas for their upcoming events but also newly acquired knowledge and plenty of motivation.”

In addition to Gunnel’s session, visitors can gain new professional insights in practical workshops led by industry professionals. Training consultant James Lee from Maxima Training will deliver a session on ‘Maximising Personal Effectiveness’. The presentation will offer tips and observations about people’s personal efficiency and how they can have more of an impact. In addition an interactive workshop on ‘Social Media for Events’ will give you an opportunity to learn how to use social media effectively for your events.
