MP Nick de Bois to launch APPG inquiry at Confex

Conservative MP Nick de Bois will launch details of the first ever All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Inquiry into the events industry in a specialist session at International Confex next week.

The Chair of the APPG on Events will outline the details of the inquiry, which will focus on the international competitiveness of the UK events industry, in a session with Black Tier members of the International Confex Loyalty Programme as well as international corporate buyers.

Within the session, the MP for Enfield will call for industry engagement with the inquiry process and encourage organisations within the events industry to submit witness testimonies.

Selected written testimony submitters will also be asked into the House of Commons to give verbal testimony to a group of MPs. These testimonies, it is promised, will be incorporated into a report. A series of recommendations will be passed on to ministers throughout government, the group promised.

The report will be presented to the industry at a special event in the summer hosted by International Confex and the Britain for Events campaign.
