Manchester Central wins 5-year Chartered Institute of Housing contract

Manchester Central will be the home of the Chartered Institute of
Housing (CIH) annual conference and exhibition for the next five years.

The leading social and affordable housing event in the UK brings together housing associations, arms length management organisations (ALMOs) and local authorities.

The Ocean Media Group event attracts around 600 housing professionals and more than 300 key suppliers.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen to host the CIH annual conference and exhibition for the next five years,” said Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Manchester Central. “This conference and exhibition was a huge success at Manchester Central in 2012 and we are looking forward to building on that success over the coming years.”

The CIH event has been running for more than 60 years. It staged its first conference at Manchester Central last year, having been held in Harrogate for 25 years, and reported a 24 per cent higher attendance.

“We are extremely pleased to sign this deal with Manchester Central,” said Sarah Payling, Event Director at Ocean Media Group. “This iconic venue fits perfectly with the CIH conference and exhibition and suits our needs perfectly. It is also great to be in the centre of one of the world’s most vibrant cities with some housing excellence best practice on our doorstep.”
