Events and communications agency Grass Roots has announced a restructure of its Marlow-based Events and Communications division and is set to lose staff as it slims down to meet new demands.
“Over the last 15 months, we have made significant changes to the structure and business operating model and we now need to achieve further efficiencies to ensure our competitiveness,” says David Hackett, Grass Roots Deputy Chairman – Events.
“As a consequence, we have promoted Amber Keats to Head of Event Management and Karen Giles to head a new Participant Engagement unit. Regrettably there will also be departures,” he added.
“We have to rationalise operating costs and implement revised delivery models to ensure we can deliver best value for our clients. Grass Roots is renowned for excellent operational delivery however in the current marketplace we must operate faster, leaner and better to meet client expectations,” said Hackett.
“That means operating more efficiently and with lower overheads , so we are looking to streamline the business. As a result, a number of jobs have been placed at risk from across the business,” he said, adding: “Over the last six months, we have attracted a number of significant new clients and we believe that these changes will further enhance our competitive position in the marketplace.”
Grass Roots Group companies’ clients include 41 of the FTSE 100 and the company has been listed in the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012 Sunday Times list of Best 100 companies to work for.
