GenieMobile rebrands as GenieConnect at International Confex

Event and exhibition industry mobile app developer, GenieMobile, has used the annual meetings industry exhibition, International Confex at Excel London, to launch its major rebrand and company relaunch.
Now known as GenieConnect, the supplier says the rebrand is to reflect its expansion into a solutions provider of event intelligence solutions.
“We have moved from GenieMobile to GenieConnect to reflect the expansion from a mobile app approach to a wider multi-screen, multi-platform environment that better supports how visitors work,” Founder and CEO at GenieConnect, Giles Welch, said. “This provides event organisers with tools that enable them to transform real-life behavior at their events, exhibitions and conferences into business insight, new revenue opportunities and marketing intelligence.”
GenieConnect says it can deliver “in-depth insight into events through analysis of attendee behavior”. The organisation generates content, recommendations, and connections based on information gathered by the attendees’ use of their products, providing customers with tools to create more effective and rewarding events.
“By interacting with participants throughout the event cycle, we get a clear understanding of attendees with every view, click and tap they make, and as the system learns more about them their experience is personalised,” he added.
The core management team at GenieConnect has worked for the past three years to introduce the use of mobile technology to the events industry through GenieMobile. Moving forward, GenieConnect will continue to work to develop new products and services, which are in line with their customer demands.
Speaking to Conference News at International Confex (19 March), GenieConnect’s Operations Director Michael Douglas, said: “The events market is maturing in terms of understanding and recognising the potential of event apps.
“The first event apps were used to cut organisers’ teeth but now companies are realising that apps can be a key component of the infrastructure of an event and can influence how an event is remembered.”
