Destination Donington launched at Confex

A new destination for business tourism in North West Leicestershire, Destination Donington, has been launched at International Confex 2013.

Destination Donington is a three-year initiative that will combine the large-scale conference and exhibition centre at Donington Park (pictured) with a range of local hotel accommodation options to offer a new choice for local, regional and national conference and event organisers.

Destination Donington offers conference facilities for up to 2,500 delegates, with over 4,400sqm of conference and exhibition space, 1,000 bedrooms within a 15 minute drive and over 5,000 car parking spaces.

Local organisations involved in the new initiative include Donington Park, Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands Airport, Donington Manor Hotel, Hilton East Midlands Airport, Thistle East Midlands Airport, Priest House on the River, Best Western Premier Yew Lodge Hotel and North West Leicestershire District Council.

Leicester Shire Promotions will work with the partner businesses to promote the offer through a range of strategic marketing, as well as online, event bidding, PR and social media activity.

“Tourism business in North West Leicestershire have a fantastic offer for both leisure and business visitors,” says MP for North West Leicestershire, Andrew Bridgen. “The Destination Donington initiative is a great example of local businesses working together to provide a strong and focused offer that will undoubtedly attract new conferences and events to the area.”
