BlackRock and WPP account wins for Grass Roots HBI

Grass Roots HBI’s New York office has announced two new client wins: global finance firm BlackRock and marketing services company WPP.

BlackRock has over 10,500 employees in 30 countries, and said it was impressed with the strength of Grass Roots credentials in the sector, together with its ability to service the account globally.

“We are excited to partner with Grass Roots for our venue procurement needs,” said BlackRock Global Head of Events, Jill Blyn. “Their client service and ability to manage costs have already added value.”

Following the completion of a six-month consultancy project, WPP has confirmed the appointment of Grass Roots HBI as its nominated provider of strategic meetings management services. Grass Roots will be working alongside both the group and operating companies on strategies to improve their sourcing process and leverage WPP’s meetings and event spend.

“These client wins come on the back of a successful 2012, which has seen us add eight new clients and recruit a further 10 staff,” said Grass Roots HBI’s New York VP, Barry Richards. “We made the decision to open an office in New York in 2010 because we believed our proposition would prove successful in the US market and this is proving to be the case.”
