Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre supports Earth House again

Aberdeen
Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC)
will once again take part in
global green event Earth Hour at the end of this month.

The
venue will join a global community of millions of people in 7,001
cities and towns across 152 countries when it “switches off” for an hour
on 23 March at 8.30pm.

Earth
Hour is a global environmental initiative in partnership with the WWF.
It aims to have to a billion people switch off their lights for an hour,
to highlight the issue of climate change.

Last
year more than 6,950 cities and towns in 152 countries worldwide
switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2012, the largest increase in
participants since 2009.

“Earth
Hour is a great addition to the sustainable initiatives in place at
AECC,” said AECC MD Brian Horsburgh. “Having been accredited with the
Gold Award from the Green Business Tourism Scheme in December 2012, AECC
are delighted to once again be supporting this great initiative of the
WWF.”
