Stockholm refocuses on UK with appointment of Azimuth

The Stockholm Visitors Board has appointed Azimuth Marketing Communications to assist with its marketing activities in the city’s largest overseas MICE market, the UK.

“UK was our biggest market during 2012 with Germany and the USA taking second and third place respectively,” says Christian Bergström, UK Marketing Manager for corporate meetings and incentives at the Stockholm Visitors Board.

“Since VisitSweden removed meetings from its remit, we have to work harder to ensure that Stockholm is top of mind with the UK meeting planners. The work we have done has certainly paid off recently with companies like Group Se7en Eventsbringing an incentive group to Stockholm for Indesit, the white goods manufacturer, as part of their High Flyers Winter Incentive programme,” Bergström added.

Azimuth Director Jonathan Cohen (pictured) says: “I have had some great experiences of Stockholm in previous roles and I am looking forward to working with Stockholm as the city increases its activities in the UK. We have some great plans together including a familiarisation visit to the region on the 11-14 April, two sales missions to the UK in May and November and participation at the Meetings Show UK in July.”

Azimuth Marketing Communications has also been appointed as UK representative for two European DMCs – Pro Meet in Italy and Snaeland Travel from Iceland.
