Midwives head to Telford for annual conference

The International Centre in Telford has won its bid to host the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Annual Conference in November 2013.

The conference, which takes place on 13-14 November, will see one thousand midwives from across the UK descend on the West Midlands. Speakers at the conference are set to include senior politicians, international and UK midwifery and maternity experts and leading thinkers in health policy.

“I am delighted that our conference will be in Telford,” says Chief Executive of the RCM, Cathy Warwick. “It is a good location for people from across the country to reach, and I hope to see many midwives there come November.”

Southwater Event Group owns The International Centre, and Chief Executive Tom Gray, adds: “We are looking forward to welcoming delegates from such a prestigious association to our venue. This is a really high-profile event which is good news not only for our venue but for the wider local economy too as it will attract so many visitors to the area.”
