Kempton Park reports 33% jump in event profits

Kempton Park Racecourse, in Surrey, has increased its conference and event business profits by 33 per cent from 2011 to 2012.
Sales from conferences and events now contribute to 50 per cent of the Jockey Club Venues’ racecourse’s overall profits.
The venue says its DDR packages were particularly popular and saw an increase of 213 per cent between the same period, with 2,516 sold in 2011 and 5,375 sold in 2012.
Christmas party nights also increased in popularity due to a Reindeer Racing offering, which resulted in a increase in Christmas party covers of 323 per cent, from 485 covers in 2011 to 1,567 in 2012.
Jockey Club Venue’s Rupert Trevelyan, Regional Director of London, says: “It’s great to see that Kempton Park Racecourse’s reputation for event excellence has been reflected in conference and event sales and attendance. We’re looking forward to continuing to develop this standing throughout 2013, and hope to see similar statistics this time next year.”
