Eventia and IVCA Boards agree April vote on merger

Boards of both events industry trade body Eventia and International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) have now committed to an agreed timetable to formalise their proposed merger.
A deadline for a voting process has been set for early April, subject to final details being agreed.

In the next few weeks working groups will be looking at and finalising:

  • A memorandum of Understanding (for both Boards to sign up to – detailing the culture and running of the new organisation)
  • A revised Memorandum and Articles of Association for the new organisation
  • A commercial plan that details the advantages this merger would create for members
  • A vision and mission statement to support the resolution on merger.

Simon Hughes, Chairman of Eventia (pictured), said: “We are now at a point where both the consultation that we’ve had with our members and the detailed work required to create something new and compelling for the live communications industry is almost complete. I’m looking forward to giving our membership the chance to engage directly with this process through the ballot which we will launch in April.”

Marco Forgione, CEO of IVCA, said: “I’m really pleased that so much progress has been made. The two Boards are now finalising the details for the creation of a new sector leading membership association, an association which will help lead our industry through the emerging landscape.”
