Crystal Interactive launches iPad minis for events

Audience engagement specialist Crystal Interactive has introduced iPad minis as the latest interactive meeting tool.

“We’ve recently taken delivery of a fleet of over 400 iPad minis and they are proving to be the ultimate delegate accessory,” says Crystal Managing Director, Chris Elmitt (pictured). “Our clients are equally as excited about their versatility and functionality for conferences, and have been quick to order stock for their events.

“Towards the end of 2012 we ran a number of large conferences and congresses with delegates using an iPad each in plenary, breakouts and in circulation zones. As delegates moved around, I noticed that something as big and as precious as an iPad was an encumbrance for some. They couldn’t put it down for fear of losing it and was too big to tuck in a pocket or bag. So when we heard about the mini, we thought this would immediately address the issue,” he says.

Elmitt adds that the iPad mini is much more portable and cheaper to ship to events, while all of the apps developed for the iPad still work with the iPad mini, including Crystal’s own event app, which allows delegates to vote and submit questions, view speaker presentations and access personalised event content.

Crystal Interactive will be showcasing the iPad mini at International Confex, during the Conference Suite of the Future sessions on 19 and 20 March.
