Today (5 February) Conference News’ Managing Editor, Paul Colston, and Online Editor, Sarah O’Donnell, will be hosting a seminar on hybrid events at the Event Production Show.
The Event Production Show, organised by Mash Media, takes place on 5-6 February at Olympia, and features a number of panel discussions.
The Conference News-led seminar includes a presentation on running hybrid events by Planet Planit’s Paul Cook CMP and a Q&A with the Head of Marketing and Buyer Programmes for the IBTM Events Portfolio at Reed Travel Exhibitions, Mandy Torrens.
At the 2012 EIBTM exhibition in Barcelona, Reed ran its first EIBTM Hybrid Conference, which streamed keynote panel discussions and educational seminars for a full day. According to Tweet Reach, #EIBTMHybrid reached over 26,800 accounts and had over 71,000 impressions.
In related news, the official app for the Event Production Show, the Showplanner App, has been released and is now available for download from the Event Production Show website.
Users of the app, which can also be installed directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play for iOS and Android devices, are able to view exhibitor’s profiles on a 3D floorplan, add them into a personal show plan and send them contact requests.
The app also features a check-in system to allow visitors to confirm their visits to each exhibitor on their plan by scanning a unique QR code, and ’QR Hunt’, a treasure hunt-style game that encourages movement around the venue and rewards the winner with a luxury night in the four-star St Ermin’s Hotel in London.
The app is designed to enhance lead generation for exhibitors by giving them access to the contact details of all users who add them into their personal plans, make a contact request or check in at their stand.
