Cheltenham Racecourse and The Jockey Club make senior appointments

Sporting venue Cheltenham Racecourse has announced three senior appointments as part of its developing management restructure.

With over 25 years in the racing industry, Ian Renton has been appointed Regional Director for Cheltenham Racecourse and the South West Region, The Jockey Club, including Exeter, Warwick and Wincanton racecourses. In his previous role as Managing Director of Arena Leisure, Renton directed a successful catering division, specialising in venue and event catering.

Lee Moulson joins as Racing Sales Manager, a role which sees him take responsibility for growth of income across all racing related leisure streams including hospitality.

Assuming the role of Regional Head of Marketing for Cheltenham and the South West, The Jockey Club, is Matthew Foxton-Duffy. He will be responsible for the marketing activity across all revenue streams for The Jockey Club’s South West racecourses, developing both racing and conference and events offering.

“Collaboration between the venues in our region is a key objective of the new structure, making it easier to share best practice, promote a consistent set of core values throughout the group, increase effectiveness of sales and marketing to customers and reduce costs,” says Renton.

Cheltenham Racecourse offers a range of event spaces from smaller meeting rooms to The Centaur, a 2,250-seated auditorium.
