The Lensbury in Richmond begins 2013 with refurbishments

The Lensbury in Middlesex is kicking off 2013 with a £1.2m investment in The Thames View Suite, its main function room.

Redevelopment began on 28 December and the plan is for a multi-purporse space that can accommodate meetings and conferences as well as private dinners and parties for up to 260 people. The work includes the removal of some pillars, new windows throughout, a new bar and new audio visual systems. All air conditioning and heating systems will be replaced with the latest ergonomic equipment to improve sustainability.

By increasing capacity to 260 banqueting style, Lensbury say it will make the property the largest residential special event resort in the Richmond area.

The Lensbury is also refurbishing 17 bedrooms from February to further enhance the £1.2m invested in Executive Bedrooms in the last 12 months.

As well as the internal refurbishments, new decking and a landscaped pond area are planned for the exterior with pathways, seating, wild gardens and water features.

The venue is also investing in a new premiership standard rugby pitch, which will be ready for use in September 2013 at the latest depending on the weather and growth.
