PCMA to boost its education strategy in Europe

The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) will unveil plans to strengthen its foothold in Europe and expand its delivery of meetings industry education at its Convening Leaders event, which takes place in Orlando, USA, 13-16 January 2013.

The announcement follows recent European activity from the association including, the Global Corporate Summit in Scotland (July), The Global Leadership Series with the SECC, and partnerships with the UK’s Business Visits and Events Partnership, as well as industry trade shows EIBTM, International Confex and IMEX.

PCMA held its first Global Executive Edge at EIBTM in Barcelona and launched the Global Meeting Executive of the year to coincide with IMEX’s 10th anniversary.

The new strategy announcement for Europe will be part of PCMA’s global media event being streamed live from the Convening Leaders conference.

PCMA will also be introducing its new board members for 2013, including PCMA Chair-Elect, Johnnie C. White, and PCMA Education Foundation Chair-Elect, Gregg H. Talley.

“We’ve got over 4,000 leading meetings and event professionals joining us in Orlando for four days of world class education next week and we couldn’t wish for a better forum to expand upon our international strategy to the world,” says PCMA Chief Operating Officer Sherrif Karamat. “2013 is kicking off in style with Convening Leaders and setting the tone for a really exciting year for our association.”
