The event catering division of the Crown Group, Kudos, recognised the efforts of its staff at its annual ‘K Awards’ at Gibson Hall, London on 18 January.
The evening was attended by over 120 staff from venues including the Brighton Centre, Cambridge Corn Exchange, Cutlers Hall in Sheffield, Church House Conference Centre, Honourable Artillery Company, Harrogate International Centre, Northampton Saints, Pump Rooms in Royal Leamington Spa and Central Halls Westminster.
“We have outstanding talent within our teams, who show their commitment and dedication to us by delivering quality food, service and management support day-in, day-out,” said MD of Kudos, Jon Pryce, when opening the awards.
The evening started with a drinks reception in the Garden Room and was followed by a three-course dinner in the main hall.
The awards were presented by senior management from Kudos including Pryce; the Sales and Marketing Director, Mary Griffiths and Operations Director, Paul Mansfield.
The key awards presented included:
- Support person of the year: Wayne Hands, Procurement, Head Office
- General Manager of the Year: Nick Corbett, Honourable Artillery Company
- Best Sales person: Lesley Healy, Honourable Artillery Company
- Sustainability Award: Central Hall Westminster
- Chef of the Year: Norman Webb, Church House Conference Centre
- Best Venue: Church House Conference Centre
The main prize, a trip to Rome was won by Amy Selwood for the Employee of the Year.
A raffle offered prizes ranging from bottles of champagne, to concert tickets and football match tickets, to dinner at Midsummer House in Cambridge. A total of £750 was raised on behalf of the Crown Foundation, which was then doubled by the Crown Group, making the total raised £1,500.
