DoubleTree by Hilton unveils plans for first hotel in Liverpool

Hilton Worldwide has announced that it has signed a franchise agreement with Muncipal Annex to open the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Liverpool.

The 87-room city centre hotel is expected to open in summer 2013 in the city’s former Muncipal Annexe on the corner of Sir Thomas and Dale Street, and will join the brand’s growing portfolio of upscale, full service hotels, which has recently added new properties in locations such as Leeds, Manchester and London.

The agreement will see Sanguine Hospitality manage the DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool on behalf of the property’s owner, Municipal Annex.

“Liverpool already features our Hilton and economy Hampton by Hilton brands, and as our portfolio of hotels grows, I am delighted to see a DoubleTree by Hilton project joining nearly 60 that are already either trading or under development across Europe,” says Senior Vice President, Development, Europe and Africa, Hilton World, Patrick Fitzgibbon.

Global Head of DoubleTree by Hilton, Rob Palleschi (pictured), adds: “DoubleTree by Hilton is looking forward to adding this hotel to our portfolio in the UK, which currently features 17 open hotels.”
