A London venue has installed a new system for events, billed as “surround light”.
The amBX lighting at 8 Northumberland Avenue, located just off Trafalgar Square, has 16.7m colours per light and can be linked to music, PowerPoint presentations, TV commercials and films.
The technology is free with room hire and was supplied by UK-based provider, amBX Lighting.
“We are only just starting to scrape the surface of this technology and there is a lot more to come,” said Charles Boyd, Director at 8 Northumberland Avenue. “At the front-end we can provide a lighting show to music and video simply and at virtually no cost to the client.
“On a simpler level we are able to create effects from an everyday programme such as PowerPoint that will improve the engaging of the audiences’ minds substantially. By enhancing the client’s messages with subtle or dramatic light, we are able to significantly increase the value for the client,” he adds.
The venue was recently up in lights on the silver screen after Madonna used the ballroom to film her recent movie, W.E.
