Wade-Smith leaves Congrex after less than a year as CEO

International association meetings organiser Congrex has realigned its top management team following the departure of CEO David Wade-Smith after serving less than a year in the post.

A Group Executive Board triumvirate is now overseeing the group’s strategy, with Diana de Tamayo, Chairman; Donald Hellstedt, Director and Dr Layth Bunni, Non-executive Member and former Congrex Group CEO.
 
Wade-Smith came to Congrex in April 2011, following an extensive entrepreneurial and business leadership career. He had been Director of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Visit Liverpool.
 
The Group Senior Management Team is now chaired by Donald Hellstedt and includes Marc Hollander, Chief Finance Officer; Robert Harrison, Chief Operating Officer; Lena Fletcher, Regional Managing Director, Nordic Region; Alain Pittet, Regional Managing Director, Switzerland, Germany and France and Viveca Döberl-Cederberg, Group Business Integration and IT Director.
 
A group statement said Wade-Smith’s “tenure contributed to the Group’s development and led the introduction of rich media to our international client base. The Group Executive Board thanks him sincerely for his time with the company”.
