Southwater eyes Olympic speaking opportunities

Southwater Event Group, which owns The International Centre, in Telford, is to work with the team at speaker and entertainment agency PGS to offer event organisers a new dedicated service.

Southwater Chief Executive, Tom Gray, said: “We first met the PGS Team when they signed up Olympic medallist Roger Black as our guest speaker for the launch of our new events suite several months ago.

“With London 2012 just around the corner, we’ll be working with their team and their Olympic Speaker agency to deliver special guests for a whole host of events.”

Kevin Parr, for PGS, said: “In this Olympic year, what better way to motivate and inspire delegates than hearing from the very people who have pushed themselves to the limit in order to achieve their greatest possible result.”

Major names in the specialist Olympic Speaker agency include Sir Chris Hoy, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Denise Lewis, Sir Steve Redgrave, Dame Kelly Holmes, and Lord Sebastian Coe.

Angela Perkins, from The International Centre, said: “We are often approached by organisers looking for speaker suggestions for their event, and having the PGS Team on hand means we can offer our organisers a professional service to help them find the very best speaker to suit their individual requirements.”
